Based on the International Classification Table (Nice), which is used globally. There are 45 groups: 34 groups for products and 11 groups for services. Trademark classifications may differ from the category of business lines. Registration fees are based on the number of groups registered, ranging from 1 to 45 groups.
The term of trademark protection in Vietnam and many countries is 10 years from the date of filing. After that, the owner can renew an unlimited number of times, ensuring that the trademark ownership is permanent if it is always renewed in accordance with regulations.
The time from filing the application to being granted a trademark registration certificate is about 18-24 months.
