    A trademark registration confers on its owner a right of ownership over the trademark for the goods/services it has designated. Registering your trademark allows you to protect your product against a risk of confusion with any similar product from your competitors.

    The owner of the registered trademark has an exclusive right for the product sold, he has the right to oppose the use of the sign by others, especially if there is a risk of confusion in the mind of the public.

    Trademark is territorial rights. A Vietnamese trademark does not secure your rights outside of Vietnam. You should register your trademark in Thailand when you plan to do business in Thailand. Our partners will help you register in Thailand quickly. They will file and process your trademark application before Thailand Department of Intellectual Property (DIP) under Ministry of Commerce.

    To file your trademark application in Thailand, we will need the followings:

    - A representation of the trademark;

    - A detailed list of goods and services;

    - A details of the applicant (full name, address, nationality, legal entity, ...)

    - A Power of Attorney. Notarization is needed.

    Timeline for Trademark Registration

    It currnetly takes about 15 to 18 months for a smooth trademark application in Thailand. Multi-class Trademark application is now accepted in Thailand.

    In Thailand, A registered mark is protected for 10 years from the filing date and can be renewed for every 10 years. A registration renewal must be filed within three months prior to the date of expiration. A grace period of six months is allowed by paying a 20% surcharge of official renewal fees. Failure to renew the registration results in loss of the trademark protection.
